This topic will explain the different processes and algorithms that an autonomous mobile robot uses to reach, from its starting position and safely, a final target point. The robot must make this journey following the "best" possible path (shortest, safest path, ...) and in a safe manner, that is, avoiding colliding with obstacles on the way. The set of processes is called navigation, which includes, among others, processes for planning paths, creating maps or obstacle avoidance algorithms.
